SHOENBURG FARMS:

Knowing that some stock retail was planned to hold the corner, we were asked to reimagine what ‘could be’ in this historic dairy farm.  This version shows the previously planned retail but also enhances it with a farm to table grocery, on-site multi-family with south facing community garden (mid-rise) and the crown jewel - a vertical hydroponic farm in a sloping public plaza.  The highest and best use of the land is intended to serve the surrounding areas of Boulder and Denver. This legacy concept would be the first of many to save water, reduce greenhouse gases, provide community centric housing and reinforce a solution to our broken food systems and housing crisis.
