PORTFOLIO B-SIDE:
This was the first accordion fold print I worked on. It is a metaphor to relate the degradation of the built environment to something common for all - rotting fruit. It asks the reader to understand compose [collection] vs decompose [simplification]. The prefix ‘de’ as it relates to [sign] and [compose] enhances the meaning of each and requires a deep philosophical stance on which direction or path brings forth true meaning. I guess it was a way for me to prepare my mind for graduate studies without having any preconceived areas of study. Side ‘A’ was a collection of hand-drawn works from undergraduate studies while side ‘B’ was looking closer at the meaning of design and why it resonates with a better understanding of our world.
